Jason Vaughn, Board Member
Mr. Vaughn is a licensed registered professional engineer with SynTerra in downtown Greenville, SC. He lives in Simpsonville, SC with his wife, Jill and their three small children, Ava, Aaden, and Lynch. Jason graduated from Clemson University in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and again in 2005 with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering. He is involved with many professional and civic organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Piedmont Chapter of the South Carolina Society of Professional Engineers (SCSPE) as Director and the Future Construction Leaders of the Upstate (FCLU) as community chair, and is currently the co-chair for the regional MATHCOUNTS Competition for middle school students. He is also an active member in the Young Engineers Advisory Council with Professional Engineers in Private Practice, Urban Land Institute, South Carolina Economic Developers Association, Greenville Chamber of Commerce – Small Business Council and PULSE Member, Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce – YP Member, and the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA) – New Leaders Committee and Construction Materials Engineering and Testing Committee.
In 2011, Mr. Vaughn was awarded the John R. Browning, PE Young Engineer of the Year Award from S&ME at their annual technical conference in Charlotte, NC. At the time, S&ME had about 1,000 employees. In the same year, Mr. Vaughn was also awarded the Young Engineer of the Year Award from the Piedmont Chapter of the SCSPE and in 2012 was awarded the Young Engineer of the Year Award for the state of South Carolina through SCSPE. In 2015, Mr. Vaughn was award the Engineer of the Year by the SCSPE for both the local Piedmont Chapter and the State society and he was recognized as one of Greenville’s Best and Brightest under 35.
Mr. Vaughn and his family absolutely love the Upstate of South Carolina and want to help make it a better place to live, work, and play for everyone.
