Greg Placone, Board Member

Greg is an Upstate native and maintains a law practice based in Greenville where he advises a range of clients involved in the construction industry, public utility sphere, and in federal government contracting. For over 15 years, Greg's volunteer efforts have focused on water conservation and watershed restoration. Beyond FoRR, Greg has held a number of roles with Trout Unlimited, a national cold water conservation organization. Currently, Greg serves on Trout Unlimited's national Board of Trustees, and he led local grassroots efforts for Trout Unlimited as a past president of the two largest chapters in South Carolina. Greg holds a B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh and a J.D. from Tulane University Law School. He lives in Greenville's historic West End with his wife, Ruth, and their son.

Q: What is your favorite outdoor activity?

A:  Fly fishing!

Q: What is the most fun part-time job you've ever had?

A: Working on a small peach farm in Anderson County back in the 90s.

Q: What's your idea of a perfect day in Greenville?

A: Hanging with my wife (Ruth) and baby Moe at The Whale in the West End.
