MISSION STATEMENT

As a volunteer-run nonprofit organization, we: Advocate for continued and improved protection of the entire Reedy River watershed Educate our community on the importance of a healthy river ecosystem Motivate our community towards accountability and ownership of the Reedy River watershed Friends of the Reedy River prioritizes protection, stabilization, restoration and improvement of land along the banks of the river and its tributaries. We encourage improved watershed management to minimize stormwater impacts and sedimentation. We engage and educate people through ongoing hands-on opportunities such as water quality monitoring, river clean-ups, invasive species removal and riparian buffer planting. We educate and guide our community through outreach initiatives.
